Thanks to over 19 years of teaching English as a Second Language, I have well-developed listening skills and a finely-tuned ability to hear and interpret detail from quiet voices, background noise, accents, and people talking over each other. Of course, I also work well with great audio quality.
I have been trained to produce clear, readable transcripts which accurately reproduce the speaker’s or speakers’ meaning and thoughts. I enjoy the challenge of using punctuation rules to express the precise meaning of the spoken word.
Due to the wide range of transcripts requested, researching the correct spelling of unfamiliar terminology, acronyms, abbreviations, and names is a vital part of the job. It presents me with an essential and enjoyable challenge as well as giving the ears a break from listening and the fingers a rest from typing.
